ABOUT

OUR CLINIC

Dr. Chris Martens and Pia Sorensen are the proud owners of Edgewater Companion Animal Clinic - a veterinary practice with a focus on dogs, cats and horses. The clinic opened in September, 2014 at 318 Main Street in Fort MacLeod, Alberta, and now employs six staff members and supports multiple amazing volunteers.

“As a team of veterinary health care professionals, our goal is to provide our clients with superior service and advanced knowledge through education in an atmosphere of compassion, honesty and respect,” Dr. Martens said. “The dedication to our patients will involve the highest medical, surgical and nursing care standards afforded in the industry.”

“Years of experience have given us a profound awareness of the bond between animals and humans and how the needs of patients and clients are ever-changing,” Dr. Martens added. “Our focus will always be the health and well-being of your companion provided in a positive and comfortable environment. We are committed to you, your animals and our community. It is a partnership for life.”

It was a love of both working with animals and Fort Macleod that led to the clinic opening.

Dr. Martens has 17 years of experience in mixed animal veterinary practice with a great deal of focus on reproduction and small animal surgery.

“We offer a large pet retail space with a multitude of nutritional options,” Martens and Sorensen explained. “Our standards of care are the highest afforded in the industry with advanced diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, dental x-ray, ECG, tonometry and ultrasonography.”

Services provided by the clinic include small animal surgery, spaying, neutering, orthopedics, x-ray, dental cleaning and x-ray, reproduction, and equine surgery, float, lameness and reproduction.

In addition to veterinarian Chris Martens and animal health technician Pia Sorensen, staff members include animal health technicians Teresa Wooldrik and receptionist-office assistant Stephanie Ashley and technical assistants Jessica Barnes and Connie Martens.

Edgewater Companion Animal Clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and after hours for emergencies. Phone the office at 403-557-0015, visit edgewateranimalclinic.com and Like the clinic on Facebook. For after hours emergencies phone 403 331-8140.
